Il progetto MED-ROUTE

MED-ROUTE aims to promote culture and other alternative forms of tourism in all parts of the Mediterranean basin through an integrated transport system.

The ultimate goal is to increase mobility in the participating regions for the purposes of tourism theme and at the same time facilitate access from one region / country to another.

The specific objectives of the project are as follows:

  • Increase / strengthening the ability of the authorities of the Mediterranean in the promotion of their identity local / regional and alternative forms of tourism.
  • Development of new tourism products trans-Mediterranean ("trails" on the Cultural Tourism and Leisure in the Mediterranean Basin).
  • Create networks between partners and stakeholders in order to exchange experiences, know-how and information and coordinating the formulation of policies that promote the tourism theme through the use of new technologies.
  • Reduce seasonality and improve the quality of tourism in the participants through the strengthening of cooperation and common development of the activities identified in the participating areas.
  • Diffusion and dissemination of project results and the actions developed in order to achieve a multiplier effect.

The summary of the actions planned to achieve the objectives are briefly described below:

  1. Analysis of the existing situation in the participating regions in terms of resources and means for the promotion of tourism, the availability and distribution of their content.
  2. Identification of actions for the promotion of tourism theme from the participants and / or authorities involved in the Mediterranean basin.
  3. Sharing the formulation of the Strategic and Operational Plans on the development and promotion of tourism theme in the participating regions.
  4. Design and development of Web-GIS platform - Successful pilot / evaluation of end-user / Adaptation / Launch
  5. Sharing the formulation of a "Green Paper on the promotion of thematic tourism in the Mediterranean" which will include the key project results, best practices and identified a number of policy recommendations in the field of tourism promotion. The Green Paper will then be distributed and promoted by policy makers (including regional authorities involved in the project) so as to define input and recommendations for the definition of the operational programs of the Structural Funds, ENPI and other national or international donors, such as the Commission (DG REGIO, DG ENTR, DG RELEX, EuropeAid, etc.).
  6. Dissemination and dissemination of the project results (communication plan, visual identity design, website, promotional material in both printed and electronic form, events, etc.).
  7. Continuous assessment and final of the progress and results of the project - identifying potential multiplier effects - the sustainability of the project after its end.

The project is co-financed by the ENPI CBC MED Programme, Priority 1 (Promotion of socio-economic development and enhancement of territories) - Activity 1.2 (Strengthening economic clusters by creating synergies among potentials of the countries of the Mediterranean basin).

 

 

Programma ENPI CBC MED

Il Programma europeo ENPI CBC Bacino del Mediterraneo è un'iniziativa di cooperazione transfrontaliera multilaterale finanziata dallo Strumento Europeo di Vicinato e Partenariato. L'obiettivo principale del Programma è di promuovere un processo dicooperazione armonioso esostenibile al livello di bacino affrontando le sfide comuni e valorizzando il potenziale endogeno dell'area.Il Programma contribuisce allo sviluppo economico, sociale, ambientale e culturale della regione mediterranea attraverso il finanziamento diprogetti di cooperazione.Attualmentepartecipano al Programma i seguenti 14 Paesi: Cipro, Egitto, Francia, Giordania, Grecia, Israele, Italia, Libano, Malta, Palestina, Portogallo, Spagna,Siria (partecipazione attualmente sospesa) e Tunisia.L'Autorità di gestione comune èla Regione Autonomadella Sardegna (Italia). Le lingue ufficiali del Programma sono l'arabo, l'inglese e il francese (www.enpicbcmed.eu). 

La cooperazione transfrontaliera "Programma Bacino del Mediterraneo (Programma ENPI CBC MED) è parte della nuova Politica Europea di Vicinato (European Neighbourhood Policy ENP) e dei suoi strumenti di finanziamento (Strumento Europeo di Vicinato e Partenariato - ENPI) per il periodo 2007-2013. Tende a rafforzare la cooperazione tra Unione Europea (EU) e altre regioni dei Paesi partner situati lungo le coste del Bacino del Mediterraneo.

14 participating countries, representing 76 territories and approximately 110 million people are eligible for this program: Cyprus, Egypt, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Malta, Palestine, Portugal, Spain, Syria and Tunisia.

The Operational Programme sets out a framework of four priorities set and agreed by the participating countries:

  1. Promoting social and economic development and enhancement of territories
  2. Promotion of environmental sustainability at the basin level
  3. Promotion of better conditions and modalities for the mobility of people, goods and capital
  4. Promotion of cultural dialogue and local governance

The main beneficiaries are local and regional authorities, NGOs, associations, development agencies, universities and research institutes and private actors operating in the field of intervention of the Programme.
